We like to call Roll the Tanks the Current house band, as both guys work there, as does their manager. Luckily they also fucking rock, so there’s none of that awkward “I know you and should be polite and go to your show even if I’m dubious about your music” sort of vibe. They’re great guys, and they put on a hell of a live show.

This isn’t the pretty color polished video off this album, but it might be a slightly more accurate representation of what to expect the night of the wedding.

Imagine a band with this many players and this much shit-kicking energy squeezed into a stage the size of your dorm room. That’s one of the best shows in town, a Friday night at the Hotel Cafe with Brian Wright and some combination of his band, the Waco Tragedies, drinking bourbon and singing their hearts out.

Our second date was seeing him and some burlesque dancers at Bordello, another local bar. It wasn’t a test, exactly, but neither of us could imagine dating (let alone marrying) someone whose default answer to, “Hey, do you want to go see some live music tonight?” isn’t always “yes yes yes.”

Shana and Dylan met when they were still shaking off the desert dust at Northwestern. (She colored some of the stills in this video, too.) He was one of her first longtime friends to meet Jessica, maybe a month after they started dating.
