attention, obsessive weather stalkers: don’t look up info for LAX if you want to know what it will be like at our house. search 90026 or downtown, and remember that the low temp isn’t what it’ll be like at 10pm (it’s usually that chilly just before dawn).

our house in silverlake is on a tiny, curvy street with very limited parking, surrounded by more tiny, curvy streets with very limited parking.

we’ve arranged for parking at bedrock rehearsal studios, about 3/4 of a mile from our house, and to shuttle you from there to our place. please plan to park at the lot.

please click the link for directions to the lot. we are using the lot on the north side of the building.

please plan to car pool, as we have limited spaces at the lot and want to avoid crowding neighborhood streets. (please only park on nearby streets if our lot is full or you are arriving very early to assist with set up.)

if you are staying at the standard downtown or the comfort inn on sunset, we will also be picking up guests from those locations. stay tuned for a full shuttle schedule.

ATTIRE: festive fall cocktail party. that is to say: a little dressy, with bonus points for flair.

COLORS: our colors are blue, purple, pink, black and glitter, and we encourage the sartorially inclined to dress to match our color scheme (think how cute the photos will be!).

WEATHER: october in los angeles will likely still be fairly warm, with highs in the 70s to low 80s during the day. by 5pm the weather will have cooled at least a little, and after the sun sets around 6pm you can expect it will be in the 60s.

WARNING: the ceremony and reception will be held in our backyard. to get to the backyard you must go down about 20 brick steps, then walk across grass, then two more short sets of brick steps, then more grass. to get back up to the bathrooms, it’s all that in reverse. to smoke a cigarette, it’s down another 20 or so steps and then back up.

WARNING PART 2: if you are a high heel–wearing lady or lad, please consider all those steps, and all that grass. we strongly recommend flats, or very low heels, or fancy flip flops. we won’t be serving anything in glassware but that’s never stopped people at a party from breaking glass before, so we don’t really recommend going barefoot.

thursday, 10/8: 5-7pm, sunset cocktails on the roof of the standard hotel (downtown LA). cash bar.

friday, 10/9: 7:30pm, a burlesque double-bachelorette party at bar lubitsch, west hollywood. (get there early, it’s a small space. warning: possible nudity!) followed by the fruit loop (weho gay bar wandering).

saturday, 10/10: 5pm cocktails, 6pm ceremony (our home in silverlake).

sunday, 10/11: 11am brunch. location near silverlake tbd.
